Wash and Clean Before Storing It
Ocean salt combined with the Florida heat and sun can destroy the paint, corrode propellers, shafts, plastics and more. Even if you didn’t see the ocean, it is important to wash your vessel before storing to prevent any harsh chemicals from damaging.
Store Outboard Engines in the Down Position
Make sure to store your engine in the down position, just how itsits in the water, this allows moisture to drain. Make sure to neverstore your outboard in the up position to prevent water fromworking it’s way inside which can cause some hefty damage!
Prep the Outboards for Storage
Make sure toflush your engine before storing to ensure no harshsalts or chemicals are left in the lines.
